Your wife has been home with the kids all day long, you’ve been at work, but you don’t want o pick up take out. Thankfully, you went to Meiers Meats & Fine Foods earlier during the week and picked up some delicious Chicken Pot Pies that your family will love. Growing up I always loved when my mom would throw some pot pies in the oven and I get it now, they are easy and so good. The problem for me though, is that I always had to eat multiple because they weren’t always enough food for me. They seemed like they were sample sizes, but it was great for portion control I guess.
When I saw these pot pies at Meiers I thought it would be a great idea to have a stash in the freezer for those times when your wife has had a ridiculous day and you don’t want to pick up dinner from Wendy’s. I make sure to let her know to turn on the oven and throw these babies in because they take about an hour to bake. Then when they come out of the oven, let them cool off a bit and dig right in.
I love that they are made from scratch with fresh ingredients that taste so much better than what I have grown up on. Plus, one of these things fills me up and I don’t feel like I ate a bunch of garbage. There is nothing wrong with having some simple, pre-made meals in the freezer when life gets stressful and busy.
