Fat Tuesday

There is nothing better than finding a reason to get friends together for catching up. And what better way to do it then to have food right? Well, my wife is the queen of making crepes. Before we were married she would throw weekly crepe parties that were called Fat Tuesday, inviting anyone and everyone over for crepes and socializing.  Over the course of her crepe career, 18 marriages came from the connections of her crepe nights.  Crepes have turned into our signature party treat.  They are simple yet fancy and believe me, we know how to dress them up!

Being that we love to host get togethers, we still love making crepes, sharing them with friends, and making sure that we invite anyone and everyone.

So I figured I would share the recipe with you.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 c flour

1/2 tsp baking pdr

2 c milk

2 TB butter

1 TB sugar

1/2 tsp salt

2 eggs

1/2 tsp vanillla

Mix all ingredients until smooth. They work best if batter is made the day before and refrigerated over night.  Cook over medium heat until light brown.

How simple is that? Now anyone can make Fat Tuesday Crepes. And who knows, maybe we’ll have a Fat Tuesday and you’ll be invited.

How many will this make, how much batter do I pour into the pan per crepe? What about the fillings?

Great questions. This can make 20-30 crepes. Just pour enough batter in the pan to lightly cover the bottom. And fillings are endless. Stay tuned for an amazing creme filling to go on there.
