One step closer

So I’ve been doing a lot better this past week on this whole no sugar thing. I thought that this was going to be soooo easy, but boy was I wrong.

First came the girl scout cookies. I binged the three boxes that I had ordered and then made sure I didn’t see those little dealers anymore.

I thought I was fine, but then I came home one night to bags and bags of easter candy. Luckily all my wife had bought was mini cadbury eggs, but there were two bags of them. I couldn’t resist. I sat down, turned on Jimmy Fallon, and ate them all. What is wrong with me?

So that was it. I thought, “Okay, I’ve eaten all the temptations.” And my wife had decided to jump on the band wagon too. All sweets were out of the house. So we decided that we’d go to the neighborhood chili cook off and cake auction.

Lucky for me I am not a cake fan. I mean, I do love frosting and cake, but I just need to be in the mood for it. Luckily that night I was not. Unfortunately I am always in the mood for a good old frosting covered sugar cookie.

I couldn’t help myself. I bought one…or two…or three and ate em. I did give one to a little kid that was eyeing it. I love giving sugar to kids that aren’t mine. Lucky parents! The funny thing too is that as I was eating the cookie a friend mentioned my no sugar post that I did.

But the part that made me really work harder at not eating the sugar was that I said I wouldn’t do it and people have seen me do it. I can stick to this. Plus, I have noticed that I really go a little crazy when I eat sugar and that just doesn’t need to happen.
