Growing up, one of my favorite movies to watch was The Land Before Time. I am pretty sure that I even sang “If We Hold on Together” for a talent show in elementary school. I honestly loved watching it and who didn’t memorize all the characters of the movie? This is just one of those movies that I always thought, “I hope my kids will love this movie one day as much as I did.”
Thankfully, Walmart recently released The Land Before Time: The Complete Collection DVD and having a son that is completely obsessed with dinosaurs I knew I wanted to make a magical movie night with my family with it. I have to go above and beyond for this because I feel like this should be one of those moments where we get together and enjoy popcorn and snuggle up on the couch to let the memories come a flooding back for me and to create some for my kids as well.
Head to Walmart to grab The Land Before Time: The Complete Collection DVD now, while supplies last! I loved that I was able to grab some Pop Secret movie theater popcorn and a variety of snacks to make a delicious dinosaur popcorn mix. I have been on a major popcorn kick lately and when I was deciding to watch a movie from my childhood, I had to also grab treats of my childhood. I was always obsessed with movie theater popcorn, but being older I felt that was going to be way too much. I wasn’t going to ruin the experience and so I figured I would go for it. To my surprise, it wasn’t as crazy butter flavored as I remember. For me, it was completely perfect!
Movies are one of the things our family absolutely loves to sit together and watch. We will all cuddle up on the couch with our snacks and enjoy a family movie night. So many times I have tried showing my kids, specifically my son, movies that I loved growing up and unfortunately there hasn’t been a movie he loves that I loved when I was little. I will say, The Land Before Time has been the one movie he has actually loved. He loves dinosaurs and cartoon action movies, and this was the perfect pick.
At the end of the day, I just want to bring the memories that I had growing up that were unforgettable to be memories I have with my own kids. I want my kids to always remember the nights we spent together watching movies and I hope to make this a fun family tradition where we gather together making fun treats and enjoying movies of our childhood, at least until they pick the movies we watch.
