General Knot Bow Ties

When I first started this idea, wearing bow ties for 30 days in a row without wearing the same ties, I knew that I needed to go out and buy some more, and even venture out by finding some new brands.

I decided that I would turn to Pinterest because I knew I was going to get quite a variety, but these pictures would direct me to pages of real brands that maybe I hadn’t heard of before. Well, Pinterest didn’t let me down and directed me to an amazing brand General Knot & Co.

General Knot Bow Ties | The Modern Dad

General Knot & Co is based out of Bedford, New York where they take rare and vintage fabrics collected from around the world and create amazing neck ware. But what I love most about General Knot is that each collection of designs are made in very limited quantities, uniquely finite and never to be repeated. I hate when I buy something, go out in public and see someone else wearing the exact same thing.

When I opened the box of General Knot bow ties I knew that I had hit gold. I knew that I didn’t want to wear it with outfits that would blend with the tie, but only wanted to wear white shirts to make all the focus be on these amazing vintage fabrics.

I just couldn’t resist all their stripes and floral patterns. I love everything about General Knot bow ties and bringing these amazing fabrics to life with their amazing craftsmanship and quality work.

VINEYARD FLORAL & BAR STRIPE REVERSIBLE DIAMOND POINT | The Modern Dad

When I first wore the amazing Vineyard Floral and Stripe Reversible diamond point bow tie I knew that I was going to get some comments from people. One after the other, “Where did you get that tie?” “I love the floral and stripe combo you have going on there!”

I love a bow tie that gives you two options in one. The reversible options that are offered by General Knot are by far the most creative, stylish and fashionable looks I have seen lately.

If you are looking for more of a causal look though, get the 1950s Crimson Double Dot reversible or 1950s Cowboy Daisies and Black pin dot diamond bow tie. I paired it up with a classic white shirt sleeve button up, dark denim and some 1901 dress shoes. This is a look that can be worn to work, a fun night date night or just be the dad with real style.
